The Broadband Advisory Council (BBAC) is a working group focused on building digital access and literacy across the state. Membership is made up of leaders and stakeholders who serve covered populations, as well as consulting members to provide additional expertise. Quarterly meetings are held, which are open and available to the public. Previously, the BBAC was tasked with identifying challenges to broadband infrastructure access under the SC Broadband Office. As more South Carolinians gain access to the broadband infrastructure, the BBAC is transitioning to the Digital Opportunity Department to focus on broadband adoption and use. The BBAC will support the Digital Opportunity Office’s goals through subcommittees that directly correlate with the initiatives determined in the Digital Equity Plan.
