Broadband Office
The Broadband Office serves as the central broadband planning body for South Carolina and coordinates with federal, state, regional, local, and private entities, to the extent practicable, to encourage the continued development of access to broadband. The Broadband Office also serves as a central resource to collect and publish information about state and federal programs to fund broadband expansion and helps maximize resources by coordinating with other state and federal programs.

Coordination and engagement across all sectors of government academic institutions, non-profits, and the private industry is vital to connect consumers to affordable, reliable broadband.
Funding for Broadband
There are additional funding opportunities available for the expansion of broadband in South Carolina. The ORS does not administer these funding programs.
Mapping and Data
The Broadband Office collects information from broadband providers and other entities to update maps. The Broadband Office compiles this information, analyzes, and updates maps and data.
I Need Internet Survey
Consumers who do not have access to internet service to their home or business can voluntarily complete the I Need Internet survey. Results from this survey are shared with Internet Service Providers (ISPs) to help inform the expansion of broadband access in the state.
