Duke Energy Progress, LLC (DEP) filed an application under the ERSA with the Public Service Commission of South Carolina (PSC) on March 13, 2026 to increase its electric rates charged to customers. If approved, an average residential consumer's monthly bill (using 1,000 kilowatt-hours per month) would increase by approximately $10.20 per month.

The application will be considered by the PSC in July 2026, with new rates effective August 1, 2026.

Consumers can fill out a Letter of Protest on the PSC’s website or file a Petition to Intervene with the PSC by emailing contact@psc.sc.gov no later than Friday, May 15, 2026.

How Can Consumers Participate?
