Mapping and Data

The Broadband Office collects information from broadband providers and other entities to update maps. The Broadband Office compiles this information, analyzes, and updates maps and data.

Data Request to Providers
To maintain efficient deployment of federal funding and prevent duplication of facilities, the SC Broadband Office (SCBBO) requests that all residential wireline and/or fixed wireless Internet Service Providers (ISPs) submit their FCC reporting data to the SCBBO so the next set of SC broadband maps may be developed using the best available data; ISPs that deliver satellite, middle-mile, or exclusively commercial service are not required to submit data. Updates are requested twice a year.
SC Digital Drive
SC Digital Drive allows consumers and stakeholders to interact with and download maps showing the availability and speed of broadband in the state. Stakeholders can submit projects for inclusion in maps. In addition, the site houses applications and surveys for consumers and stakeholders. After requesting a login, some users will have access to download data used in maps.

The Broadband Office maintains several dashboards and applications on SC Digital Drive for stakeholders, consumers, and businesses to use. Visit SC Digital Drive to view these dashboards and applications.

Request Broadband Data

Stakeholders can fill out a Data Access Request Form to request access to the data used to compile maps and applications. An ESRI ArcGIS Organizational Account and AGOL username is required to provide access to the data.

Contact the Broadband Office About a Map

The Broadband Office continues to improve the accuracy of broadband maps. The Broadband Office encourages consumers who see a discrepancy in maps published— as in, the map suggests they have access to internet service, but they do not— to contact the ORS.
