Utility line personnel work tirelessly to ensure power systems are restored— even in the midst of a global pandemic. In honor of National Lineman Appreciation Day, the South Carolina Office of Regulatory Staff (ORS) recognizes the dedication and effort of our state’s electrical personnel— men and women who help keep electricity flowing in South Carolina.
April 18, 2021 is celebrated as National Lineman Appreciation Day— a day to honor those who dedicate themselves to the often-hazardous work of keeping the lights on.
When Mother Nature destroys what utility line personnel have built , they are on call to rebuild it as quickly as possible. These men and women work tirelessly to restore electric service. Given the weather events that affect our state’s electric grid, their work is vital.
“South Carolina electrical personnel work hard every single day to keep power flowing, and their efforts do not go unnoticed,” said Nanette Edwards, Executive Director of the ORS. “We thank each and every person that has helped provide safe and reliable power during COVID-19.”
The ORS salutes the women and men who help ensure reliable, essential utility services in South Carolina.
