On Monday, Jan. 11, the Office of Regulatory Staff (ORS) filed a letter with the Public Service Commission of South Carolina (PSC) asking Dominion Energy South Carolina and the intervening parties to agree to a six-month pause in Dominion's application for a rate increase due to adverse economic conditions affecting customers during the COVID-19 pandemic. The case, Docket 2020-125-E, began last week and was scheduled to continue this week.
The pause was agreed to by all parties and approved by a unanimous vote of the Public Service Commission of South Carolina and means that no potential increase could be approved until after the case resumes July 12 and an order from the PSC is issued no later than Aug. 16, 2021.
